Wonder Group
Group Therapy for Folks Living the Dying Part of Life
How does one live life in the face of death?
This vulnerable time can feel intense and isolating. However, it also can be a rich time to connect with others going through similar experiences. Facing a terminal diagnosis can prompt us to reexamine our lives, with an eye toward creating greater authenticity, life engagement, connectivity, meaning, and self-fulfillment. So much inner work can be done as you face your mortality and make meaning of your life.
I feel honored to offer a virtual 10-week psychotherapy support group for folks with a terminally ill cancer diagnosis anywhere in the state of California during this precious time. This 10-week group is sponsored by the John Wayne Cancer Foundation and they are covering the cost for each group member making the group free for 10 participants.
In a confidential and supportive environment, you will:
Offer support for each other’s treatment issues
Improve coping skills
Find meaning in life
Deepen communication with family, friends, and medical team
Reexamine and shift priorities for a richer, more authentic experience of life
Confront fears and concerns surrounding death
Past group members have expressed immense relief at being with others going through similar experiences and being able to talk openly about their concerns, fears, hopes, and feelings.
